Dr. Vicky Wong brings knowledge and expertise to our locally-owned practice. She earned her optometric doctorate with distinction from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, proudly becoming a Golden Key Honor Society member.
Her commitment to excellence continued as she completed an ocular disease residency at the Lexington VA Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Kentucky, focusing on low vision.
Today, Dr. Wong passionately practices primary eye care, especially myopia control and effective dry eye management. Dr. Wong is a founding Young ODs of America member and an active American Optometric Association (AOA) member, contributing her expertise to the Vision Rehabilitation Section. Her dedication to advancing the field is evident in her lectures and articles on myopia management, dry eye, and strabismic amblyopia.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Wong serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the Myopia Institute and plays a crucial role as a contributing eye care writer for patient education within the Eyecare department of IntroWellness. Together with her husband, Dr. Chun AuYeung, she is an engaged member of the Maryland Optometric Association, currently serving as the MOA’s President on the association's first ever all-female Board.
Outside the world of optometry, Dr. Wong is a self-proclaimed foodie, indulging in culinary delights. She also enjoys the camaraderie of volleyball and finds joy in the company of her faithful Pomeranian, Maddox (named after the optometric tool, the Maddox Rod, naturally). She now spends most of her free time chasing after, or cooking for, her 2 little ones, Ava and Perry!
Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care is privileged to have such a multifaceted and accomplished optometrist in our locally-owned practice!
