About Dr. Glazier:
1998 co-recipient of Maryland Young Optometrist of the Year Award.
Dr. Glazier holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland and a doctorate from the New England College of Optometry in 1993. He completed externships in Boston, Baltimore, and Jerusalem, Israel. In 1995, Dr. Glazier established a private practice in Gaithersburg, Maryland in 1995. In 1999 he moved the practice to Rockville, Maryland. The newer state of the art facility, Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care, serves over 10,000 residents of the greater metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
Dr. Glazier is founder and CEO of Vision Solutions Technologies, a company with a novel implantable lens that benefits people suffering from macular degeneration. He is involved in private research activities. He also holds numerous patents in contact lens, intra-ocular lens and ophthalmic biotechnology. He serves as a consultant to CIBA Vision and is on the editorial board of Optometric Management Magazine. In 1998, Dr. Glazier was selected as the Maryland Young Optometrist of the Year by his peers.
In 1993 Dr. Glazier was awarded a fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. He is a member of the Contact Lens Association of Optometrists and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthamology . Dr. Glazier is active in the Maryland Optometric Association as a member of the Legislative Enhancement committee. Dr. Glazier lives in Rockville, Maryland with his wife Laura, their sons Jacob and Ari.
